We had heard lots about this “Botak Jones”, where you could get classic American burgers in Singapore | They are a food stall at the 2nd Street Cafeteria and claim “authentic American food” | On our way there, we kept having to stop at red lights with this motorcyclist. He ran every red light, jumping the green, only to get stuck at the next traffic light. Not too bright, that one. | Botak Jones on the inside | The burgers were okay, but nothing to write home about. And the proprietor actually takes pains in his advertising to tout his “corn fed” beef, while falsely claiming that grass-fed is cheap (hah!) low-quality beef. | That said, the burgers weren’t any worse than one can get at various fast-food places in the US, and the cafeteria was one of the cleanest, most comfortable eating centers we’d seen in Singapore. |
